Set big and small screw to 1 1/2 turns from all the way in. Then I adjust the big screw (high speed metering jet) on out till when the throttle is pulled from idle to wide open throttle, the engine won't hesitate...or when the throttle is wide open...turn big screw in slowly till the engine starts to quit and then turn it back out about 1/2 or 3/4 turn.
The small screw or (idle air adjustment) is adjusted till the engine (while idling) is adjusted for the highest rpm. If the adjustments don't do anything when doing the above...the carburator probably needs rebuilt. Fred OH
