Murphy's Law applies to only part of mechanical work. There are others, who have added their names to the challenges faced by do it yourselfers. For instance: Johnson's Law states that if you drop a part or a wrench, it will bounce or roll to the exact geographic center under the vehicle on which you are working so that you cannot reach it from any angle. Happens all the time.
