The most pathetic part of it is not the pay but the stupidity of appointing people solely on the basis of party poyalty and donations to the party. It happens at all levels of federal and state governments and it makes me want to vomit. If these people had any ethics/character at all, they wouldn't even consider accepting such a position, especially if they don't have any expertise in the area.
