Larry you have several of your facts wrong. Under the old hrs of service you could drive 10 hrs and work another 5 hrs, total off 15hrs. then you must take a 8hr off duty break. Under the new hrs of service you can drive 11 hrs but only work a total of 14 hrs then take a 10 hr. break. There are a lot more to both hrs of service, but these are the basics. You can work 6o hrs it 7 days or 70 hrs in 8 days then you must take a 34hr break. It is harder to run ileagle under the new hrs than the old. How ever the Fed appeals Court has scrapped the new hrs due to a law suit by Walmart and other large corps. We still operate under them until some thing is done. AAA has done studyies and 75% of the time when a car big truck fatale accedent happens the car is at fault.
