Well, MFC and 124 sure sound like a Continental 124 cu inch engine built for a Massey Ferguson. This is/could be an important tid bit to identify the engine in this manner. My MF uses the oil pan casting for the front structrural member whereas Ford uses the engine block. By specifying the Cont. eng was for MF, it may have had different physical properties peculiar to MF. Don't know of any other mfgr using Cont. Eng in tractors but MF and maybe Massey Harris. Mark
