Think you have to remove the hood and gas tank.Then uncouple the drive shaft.Then remove the bell housing.You might have to block up the rear of the engine first.You should then be able to remove the drive coupling and then remove the front bearing quill(Be careful there could be shims behind the quill(not sure about that)That is if you can't just remove the seal without pulling the quill.Sometimes you can use a sharp tool to penetrate the seal and pull it out trhat way.A seal puller works good for that.Be very careful when replacing the seal that sharp edges on the shaft don't cut the seal.I would use a fine file or emery cloth on any edges first then use gobs of grease on the shaft.Got to replace one myself on a Massey 44-6 that I am restoring.
