You should use soap instead of oils. The idea is to make the Roundup work better by making the water wetter, thus spreading it on waxy weed leaf surfaces better. I use equal parts plain roundup and laundry detergent and it works great. Some newer Roundup mixes have enough surfactant(soap) but you usually pay more or they have less active ingredient. However, if its going to rain within 4 hours after spraying you'll have more success with a faster acting conglomeration like Roundup-Ultra
