17hp Briggs-Stratton Intek

Trying to upgrade garden tractor to a 17hp Briggs-Stratton engine (#31F7070112E1) in an Mtd lawn tractor. New engine has slightly different wiring. It has a regulator on side of engine with Red , yellow wires coming out of it.Would red wire need 12v power source, with key on? Yellow turns to black into engine near back of motor. At front grey wire I know needs power with key on on position to open electric solenoid at carb, but other black wire -is it magneto wire or is rear one? Thanks
