O.T. FORD F350 ZF 6-SPEED FLUID

Any F350 owners out there that have the ZF 6-speed manual transmission? I've heard that it uses some sort of special ATF or Mercon oil--is that correct? Our owner's manuals was left at grandma's house and we won't get over there until the 4th of July. Don't even know if that info is in there anyway. Ours is a 2001 model, if that makes any difference. Should we buy the oil from the dealer or is there a good aftermarket type that meets/exceeds OEM requirements?
