Around here that's a good price. New one would be $45K+. I just looked at a 2003, about the same description as yours (6 speed), same miles. Asking $38K. Sales manager is a friend of mine, I used to work for him. He told me his cost on it is $33K and he'd sell it to me for $34K. From my experience in the car sales business (I only did it for a couple of years), average gross profit on a used vehicle is about $1500. Sometimes you let a $500 deal out the door and sometimes you hit a homerun and make $3000 on a deal. Trucks always had a better gross profit than cars. I also looked at a '99 Ford PowerStroke F350 dually with all the goodies including leather, chrome brush guard, windshield visor, fancy pinstriping, etc etc. Miles were only 30K and the owner wanted $25,000. He sold it a couple of days later.
