Found a 2002,cummins, 4X4, duals, with 27000 actual. Cloth seats and the rest of the loaded goodies. Not used for heavy hauling.
Asking 27500. Is this a fair price?

Sounds a lil high to me... I gave 32 + a little for my new 2001 3500 4X4 with 6 speed & HO Cummins (no leather or Premium Sound) in Aug.01 at a high- volume dealer across the Ga line.

Seems rather high for a used truck, I paid $29,400 in 2001 for a brand new Chevy 3500 4X4.

My Dodge dealer in Elkhart, IN. was asking $33K and change for an '02 3500 Quad Cab, Cummins 6 speed manual, 4 wheel drive and pretty loaded with about the same milage. A year and a half ago, I paid $27.5K for my '01 2500 Quad Cab, Cummins 5 speed automatic, 4 wheel drive with about the same milage. My only regret, the automatic transmission - they're known for having problems, especially behind the Cummins, and I lost second and third gears at about 40K miles under reletively light duty, but the 10 year/100K miles warranty covered it. Nice thing about your '02, Dana 60 front and Dana 90 rear - bullet proof. Jump on it for that price, period. The new Dodge line up dumped Dana to save money, and now the axles are Korean made.

Great price based on how they sell here. Of course you can buy a new one for that if you dont get all the whistles and bells.

Around here that's a good price. New one would be $45K+. I just looked at a 2003, about the same description as yours (6 speed), same miles. Asking $38K. Sales manager is a friend of mine, I used to work for him. He told me his cost on it is $33K and he'd sell it to me for $34K. From my experience in the car sales business (I only did it for a couple of years), average gross profit on a used vehicle is about $1500. Sometimes you let a $500 deal out the door and sometimes you hit a homerun and make $3000 on a deal. Trucks always had a better gross profit than cars.

I also looked at a '99 Ford PowerStroke F350 dually with all the goodies including leather, chrome brush guard, windshield visor, fancy pinstriping, etc etc. Miles were only 30K and the owner wanted $25,000. He sold it a couple of days later.

Seems a bit HIGH... about 2 1/2 years ago, I found a Dodge dealer in El Reno OK that offered to sell me a brandy-new one for that price!
