radiator help

I have a case 530 diesle backhoe and the radiator will not hold any pressure. it leaks out of the over flow, and I found the cap didnt even have any spring on it to make a seal so I thought that was all it was but when I got the right cap it still flows out of the over flow very bad. The machine will run for about a minute and then start pouring water out. Where should I look, what is the problem? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.
