The recommendation is 200# of N per acre. My soil tests recommend 300#/acre. I have some pi$$ poor soil in the swampy piney woods. In the past due to leaching have hit my corn, spuds, tomatoes and beans hard with the above rate as a final BOOST. For the boost I try to run 1.50# / 100 ft of row length. Rows are set at 3 ft. and 4 ft. 1.50# x 600ft = 900#. I hope to get this operation up to 100 rows. I am by now means the expert here, most of my neighbors are running more N than I. This is all I can afford. Had not thought about the lack of leaching due to no rain, just got in a rut and was thinking with long weekend get some of this work done as it is "that time" based on plant growth. Bulldog is water soluble. I have no irrigation in this field and to get water I use the ATV rig. I sold my old 6 ft. disk that carried my 55 gal. drum for watering. Had a spigot on the bottom with a long hose. You got me thinking and maybe I just need to water in the granular already in the field. Thanks for pointing that out. Pic is from 2 wks. ago.
