I am an INDEPENDANT business man and I pay my employees for what they do. They do not apply them selves and work, then they do not make as much money. The first employee that tries to bring a union into my place of business will make a lot of people mad, I will close and lock the doors. I cannot understand how organized labor can tell an emploer how much to pay their employees, the union does not own the shop, and most of the time, they probably do not know what the bottom line to the business is. Organized labor was formed to protect employess from being put in dangerous work enviroments and to get a days pay for a days work, but they have taken it too far. No person is worth $20-$25.00 per hour, plus bebefits. One fellow says he has been a tool and die maker for 40 years, how much of your hard earned money has went to union dues?? I have been doing the same job for 27 years, non-union and I own my own home outright, no payemnts, I own a 2000 Ford F250SD, and have money in the bank and have a lot of high priced hobbies, and I am happy & confortable, did not need a union to get that, just worked my hind end off to get what I want, not waiting for someone else to negotiate my salary and if 51% did not like it, then I cannot work or be threatened if I crosed the picket??lines.. You call that bettering your life??? Not me. You also are probably one of the people who will not buy anything not made in America and then complain because it costs too much.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
