Dave, you are a very insightful young man if I may say so myself. In America, one should be able to buy a home or a piece of property anywhere he can afford or is willing to pay the price. A farmer should also be able to sell a piece of property to whomever he chooses, for any reason, as long as he is not reducing the value of his neighbors property. People however should understand that when they choose to live in the country, they cannot expect to bring their city life with them, they need to conform to country life which means putting up with slow moving tractors and machinery, barnyard oders, and other inconveniences we in the country accept as a way of life. Many times when I'm taking a wide planter or a combine down the road, I hear honks, see blinking headlights, but I ignore it. I figure that if I pi$$ed them off, I did my good deed for the day. What I will not do is pull off the road and stop, because I found out long ago that that creates more problems than it solves. Does it bother me that some of our farmland is being used for housing developments? Sure, but what bothers me just as much is good farmland going fallow in government soil banks, and farmers being paid NOT to grow crops. I'm a farmer, and don't understand that one. If manufacturing companies were paid tax payer money not to produce, we would scream bloody murder.
