Gosh Paul, you sure took that personally! I don't remember anything aimed specifically at Michigan, our colleges, children, or policies. The guy has some good points and if you want to take a perspective from Michigan, I'll give you one. Lots of great kids in this state, my own young kids included. Mine work hard at haying time and do the lions share of caring for animals here. The kids they go to school with mostly can only claim that they have "mastered" the playstation. They get good grades by and large, but experience little outside of school and home. Many of them it is not their fault. They jump at a chance to help out around here and we like to let them. Our system turns out good little workers but common sense and practical experience don't seem to be a part of it. As far as the land issue goes, you sound like someone sitting on a tract of farm land just waiting for the yuppie crowd to show up with 12K per acre. It's the Michigan way, after all! Who cares about scenic beauty or farmland preservation! We just want our money, right? That's what it always boils down to. Do your research. Our state has one of the worst land management policies in the nation.
