Hello, These 1st generation Cummins trucks are pretty good. Yours doesn't have a overdrive so I can't say on the mileage I have a 93 with a 5 speed and empty get from 17 to 19 empty with no (all interstate driving ) You will lose several mpg with a load. If you are using it on the farm it is very heavy. You will need some good mud tires. I have 227,000 miles and it still starts and runs well. You will enjoy it . Mark
