Ferguson TO20 Hood Release

In a previous post I asked about the "pivot rod lever" located under the radiator and "Paul in Ms" & "Jeff-oh" informed me that it was the hood release. I believe that there is probably more to this hood release than what I have. All I have is a formed rod. Is there more to it than that? I could send a picture of what I have but I don't know how to post a picture on this site. I could send it to anyone that would be willing to send me their e-mail address. Also, if there is more to this hood release than just the formed rod, are those parts available or could they be made? I have access to a machine shop so all I would need is a sketch with dimensions. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
