To "Fred OH". I studied mine with the hood on and open. It does not touch any thing near the hood to hold it in the open position or release it. It does nothing. If you have one on your tractor, is there something else on the rod below the radiator that latches the hood when it is open. I'm sure that something must be missing on mine. I am a retired mechanical engineer and I can envision how it might work but it would take an additional part and I'm not sure exactly what shape that would take. Thanks.
