I wonder if Pertonics has a power down system like many stock electronic ignition systems that go to low or no power flow through the coil if the engine is not turning over? I suppose turning on the ignition without starting the engine and checking for any coil heat after about 5 min should answer the question. I don't remember any stock electronic ignition system being damaged by leaving the ignition on,even untill the battery is dead. I have converted my 4020 gas to Chrysler electronic ignition. I will do the coil heat test and report back.
