I ran across this idea many years ago (I am old) and it has worked over and over for me. I was trying to find something to clean out the old varnish in a clear glass kerosene lamp and although turpintine works, nothing works like Lacquer thinner. Swirl it around and it comes out looking like strong tea and the glass was clean. I next tried it on a 48 dodge, only this time i used a gallon. rocked the truck and drained it. looked like old coffee. The nice thing about it is that any left in there will mix with fresh gas and burn fine. I can't tell you how many times i have cleaned out old gas tanks with it. and it will even clean the lines to the carb. Most any hardware will have it Gary
