Why did you rebuild it in the first place? Have you got the choke plate operating the right way? I don't know what the carb is like, but it sounds like you are a learner at this game. Is the float level correct? Are there any leaks into the manifold? Old is right about the starting point adjustment, but my feeling is that you may have missed something obvious. Just remember the idle setting will have little effect on the maximum fuel rate. You obviously can't adjust it at absolutely full load from scratch, but it is easier to adjust the main feed and then work towards the tick-over settings. Regards, RAB
