Thanks for your clarification, Steve... I didn't mean to start a war with my comment about buying manuals... it's just that at first glance, it's easy to equate a tractor and its maintenence with that of a car or truck... but, nothing could be further from the truth! As an example, IH (in its manual) recommends an oil change every 150 hours... that's about every two weeks if you're working your tractor hard in the summer... probably wouldn't occur to most to change that frequently... I know it didn't occur to me!!! Just about every system in a tractor is different from its Detroit counterpart... it's nice to have the manufacturer's recommendations on how best to care for the machine!
