I've sold hay overseas before. Put together a few deals sight unseen (and done well). One of my neighbors has also sold cows to South America and several of my customers routinely sell (and ship) horses overseas. What you need: 1. A lawyer skilled in import/export to handle the transaction 2. A lawyer skilled in import/export 3. Did I mention you need a lawyer? :-) Get a contract. Most sales involve escrow. If he is legit he will ask for a vet certification. Right now with the exchange rates he may be getting a bargain. Make sure he is paying the freight and the container (you cant just put a pen in the hold of the plane. Sallee Horse Transportation (Lex, KY) is skilled in transatlantic. This should be 'some' horse. The freight will run over $10,000. Also be sure to check on restrictions in particular areas . I didnt think we could ship horses from the US to the UK due to West Nile virus.
