The 8N is a nice acreage/yard tractor. It doesn't have live pto, so you have to drive the tractor to make the pto operate. For use with a bushhog install an overrunning clutch so the hog won't push you into a tree or building. A 7 ft blade should be okay for snow removal, depends on how heavy the blade is, the 8N might get a little light in front with the blade raised. Side mount versus front mount dist.- The side mount is easier to work on, altho the front mt isn't that bad, take out two bolts and lay the dist. on the bench to change points. With a loader on, it ain't easy to work on any of them. Otherwise, there isn't any difference whether front or side dist. I grew up with these old Fords and while I'm no expert, I do know a few things about them, feel free to e-mail me anytime.
