1952 8N would be a side mount dist. If the one you are looking at is a front mount it will be a 1948 to 1950 model. There is no reason to stay away from either if maintained properly. The 8N will not be a live pto or lift. Both work off of main clutch. If you do buy the tractor, put a overrunning coupler on the pto for safety in operating brushog.
