O.T. aborting e-mail

Outlook Express ver. 6; in process of receiving one message for better than 4 hours; still hasn't all got here; messages (according to send and receive window) piling up behind it. Is there any way to "bounce" this one or skip it, or abort it or something? Logged off to see if that would help, but it started right back up, when I came back on line. Do I just need to contact my server and see if they can stop it on that end? This is a dial-up connection......
