Hi. Thanks for your response. I am the son who owns the IH 240 Utility. The problem has in fact been diagnosed as having a bad "control valve assembly". Further, we have located this part but its on a Farmall (year unknown). Wouldn't this work on my tractor? As soon as I confirm this I'll get the part and get it installed. Much thanks for all your help and advice.
