hello Chris. i'm in the middle of the same project. got help from both this board and the AC board. if you check the AC board there is a post by me asking for info about the mag. fellow that answered me included a cross section view of that mag. that helped. my mag is off a B. i used an O-ring pick to get the seals and covers off both sides of the rotor. once that's out of the way you will see the retaining clips. one on either side. my original problem was removing the impulse coupler. the guys told me that it was on a taper. put the puller on it and popped it off. then things opened up and i could see. after removing the covers seals and retainers. i pressed the rotor shaft out of the housing. just slightly tighter than a slip fit. bearing stayed in the housing. then just pushed the bearing out using thumb pressure. i had to machine a new bronze bushing for inside the cap housing. the cap rotor gear was flopping around about .020, not good. also the main reason i tore it apart was that someone somehow badly cracked the alum. housing and i am getting it welded. i should have that done today and can start reassembly. i'm fairly new to these mags but i got the help i needed off the board. greg
