SAME is phaseing out all of the air cooled diesels, just like Deutz is also doing. The reason is, they need to meet new emision standards, and it's a lot easier to do that with water cooled engines! :>(

SAME was never out of business, and has been building tractors since 1927 when Francesco Cassani developed the world's first farming tractor powered by a diesel engine. It was a two cylinder 12.7 litre horizontal propulsion unit with 40 HP at speed of 450 rpm.
