Rod I used a system like that to charge my bass boat batteries . Go to camper trailer shop ask the expert what post to use if no one at this forum can tell you , camper use tow vehicle to charge battery for 12 volt lights and for emergency brake-away device . Use wire that is able to carry 15 Amps to rear of tow vehicle . Use a 15 Amp. breaker not a fuse if trailer battery use more than 15 Amps. breaker will trip then come back on . A 15 Amp. switch on dash to control charging of trailer battery after you are on the road with trailer turn switch to charge trailer battery it will be ready to use to load your trailer . As you are using winch turn switch off as you will want your vehicle to start . You can charge battery again on the way home also with this system if charger stop working on tow vehicle you can use trailer battery to get home [yes I did that one time at night}. Snowey
