Trailer winch

I have bought a Warn winch to help me get some of these treasures onto my trailer. I have the winch mounted and have a battery beside it.Now,I would like to hook it up to my pickup so it charges the battery while towing. I have a 7 pin on the truck and it goes into a 6 pin adaptor for the trailer. What do I do to wire this up to charge? and do I need to unhook the wire when winching? Thanks in advance Rod
