Never saw a reason for 3000 since the manufacturer recommeds 5000 and auto tech articles recommend 5000 to 7000 depending on driving habits. No problems at all except one. Sometimes it has a small problem shifting between 2nd and 3rd (4 spd auto). More of a nuisance than a real problem. Shop said it would be about $1100 to have the transmission rebuilt so I just keep driving it. Like the others, I have heard many bad things about aftermarket warranties. For the cost of an extended warranty, you are betting you will have at least 2 major repairs to justify it. That usually doesn't happen within the warranty period.
