This does not really have anything to do with your post, but I thought you might find it interesting. My father in law has an Avery A that had a broken continental engine in it when he got it. Well being the tinkerer that he is he put an old Datsun engine and tranny in it. Works pretty well and since he put the Datsun tranny in there in front of the origional tranny he has about 20 or so forward gears and 10 or so reverse speeds ! The little sucker will do over 40 MPH! He has a belt driven hydraulic pump on it and a nice working belly mount scraper blade on it.
