Now maybe you had some good times in a tent with a centerpole when you were young, but might I ask why in God's green earth do you want such a roof? The cottage style is fine (albeit a bit unconventional as yours will be) but I'll guarantee you'll curse that center post to your grave. What is it about trusses that you don't like? Maybe you want an open roof area inside?
