The thermostat is inside the upper rad hose. If there is one in it. Also, you may be aware, you need antifreeze. Water boils quicker that anti freeze. I have noticed with mine if it is full to the brim with just water it will boil out some. Go to the "N" board on this site. There are a lot of really experienced "N" folks there.
