I recently purchased a Ford 9N, when I got it home and started blading my road it got hot and the radiator boiled over (within about 20 minutes of work).

I looked and didn't see an obvious thermostat housing on the block, I don't have a manual yet (it's on order) so I could use some help locating where the thermostat is so I can check if it's stuck shut?

Wade , if it's not a thermostat or coolant problem, check your belt for proper tension or see if your water pump impeller gets loose on the shaft when it warms up. You can look in the radiator and see if coolant is flowing while its running. If its none of these ,you may have a head gasket that goes to leaking when its hot. Check your oil for any water while you're at it. Good luck.

The thermostat is inside the upper rad hose. If there is one in it. Also, you may be aware, you need antifreeze. Water boils quicker that anti freeze. I have noticed with mine if it is full to the brim with just water it will boil out some. Go to the "N" board on this site. There are a lot of really experienced "N" folks there.

Dale is correct. The thermostat is inthe upper hose. Fill your radiator only to the top of the fins as the tractor has no expansion tank. The "n" cooling systems are oversize and overheating one in good repair is almost impossible.
