Engine swap

My L-800 Ford grain truck has a 391 gas that's getting tired. I also have an '86 F-250 with the 6.9L IH diesel which is getting the Michigan "you can see out of the cab, and I don't mean through the windows" syndrome. Has anyone out there attempted a similar swap? Does that 6.9 have an S.A.E. bell housing etc.?
