NH 6610 S Proof meter problem

The tach and hour meter on my 6610 gave up a few days ago. The unit only has 384 hours on it and shouldn't have gone out I wouldn't think.
Are these prone to breaking during cold weather running and if so where do they break. Anyone have an idea before I start digging into this thing? Thanks in advance.........
