Just goes to show who is king in the Diesel engine world, Navistar had to use a Cat injection system on their engine! And the 3116's are heavily used in the medium duty trucks and haven't heard of any major problems with them. As a matter of fact we have an old MF tractor with one in it and it has over 5000 hrs without an overhaul. The problem with the 6.0L powerstroke has to do with a lot of things starting with the factory procedures and specs, in fact Navistar (from what I have read) will no longer build the diesel's for Ford. Ford has been looking at putting a Cummings into their trucks now.
