Hi Jason, What my CD shows is two spring check valves, ones for a plugged filter element bypass that installs towards the bottom of the oil filter and one that installs toward the block called a check valve. They both look to take the same parts, the valve (looks to be a disc), spring (both look the same, different part numbers) and a snap ring. No "O" rings or other seal other than the gasket to the block. They do show two filter housings, one with both check valves and one with out check valves. This shows a 05/1997 revision so the original was probably different. Thats all I have. sorry I couldn't be more help. T_Bone
