Not the fastest, but something I'll never forget. Was riding on the hay wagon (80 square bales of alfalfa) being pulled by my Uncle Alvin and his 1949 JD "A". Farmer down the road came up behind us with a MM and tried to past us. I think it was a U or UB that runs about 20 mph. Uncle Alvin reached down under the right side of the hood and pulled the governor wide open. Never heard a 2 cyl. run that fast, but left the MM in the dust behind us.
