I used to set on my seatbelt in the truck or whatever until I turned a ford backhoe over on the side of a hill. You do not always have time to jump clear because it happens fast and I was not expecting it. I tried bailing off but the rops stopped the hoe from rolling completely over on me because I could not get out of the way. Now I wear mine because I want to not because someone says I have to.

If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution.
