You are using good judgement in the fact that a tractor will outlast several of the smaller lawn mower types. Although not every tractor is adapted to handle a belly mower, in that case you can do as I have done and bought a finish mower( which connects to my 3 point hitch on a J.D. 970)as I don't have the front PTO and it would cost around $1800 to buy one for it. I think Woods do have some mowers for certain tractors that the belly mower does run off the rear PTO.These are some things you would need to check into before buying the tractor.( as to what tractors Woods mowers will work on).
