You read through the rests of the posts, I don't think a redesigned engine is going to solve the problems Ford has at that plant. Their quality control has gone to crap and an hourly even posted something about the crappy attitude of the assemblers. You don't solve those problems by giving them something NEW to build. Doesn't exactly inspire one to start writing a check for about $40,000 for a new truck. I driven Fords my entire life and have NEVER like their diesels. Make my mine a V10 or a Dodge.
