John Deere 420 Crawler. I was probably 9 or 10, started out by just moving it from place to place on the farm. Later on I hauled the haywagon and the gathering tank for sugaring. When I was 11 I could reach the pedals on the Farmall C, and I have been driving tractors ever since. I started my kids on a JD 1010 crawler, a very good way to start because it is so slow, by the time they graduate to a wheel tractor they have gotten used to the clutch and other controls, and can pay more attention to what they are doing and where they are going.
