1954 NAA hydrolics don't lift

Can anyone advise where I should look next on my 54 NAA, I took the pump off and replaced all of the o-rings and I found what looks to be a piece of rubber inside of the pump as well as more inside one of the lines. This is the old style vane pump and all seems to work as it should when it is on the workbench. Any help is appreciated.
