Automatic Steering Brakes-opinion

This deals with tractors with steering brakes that engage themselves if you turn the steering wheel far enough, such as the Oliver 70s, some early Farmalls, etc. I was just wondering if any of you disconnect these for safety reasons, at least for a show tractor? The ability to swing around on a dime is nice when mowing or cultivating, but at shows this would be pretty dangerous if it happened when you didn't want! Or with a new operator... And if you did need to turn short, that is what the pedal is for! I plan on keeping the linkage disconnected on my Oliver (assuming it goes back together!) Brandon
