_"Back in the 60s lots of people bought David Browns to save money to their sorrow"_ Don't know about your area, but in mine, Brown was quite a tractor in it's day. It certainly owed nothing to any N/A built tractor of it's time. I know of a few of them with over 10000 hours, and never been worked on in any serious way. As for not being around anymore, they haven't been made in 30 years, and Case has been quite systematic in reducing support for them. With the supply of used parts in continuous decline, and many OEM parts no longer available, it goes without saying that it grows harder to maintain them all the time. A 990 DB or an 880 for that matter were a far more able tractor than the 600 and 800 series or the N series Fords they replaced at the time. As far as US built goes, I doubt that you will find a tractor in any class from the major tractor companies that is completly built in USA, or North America. Some are assembled here. Most are not. All have parts or major components sourced from around the globe, and have since a long time. You should do some research on that. You might be surprised. You take care now. Rod

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
