Is that why people join the military-the death benefit? I'd bet $500,000 isn't enough to cover death. What exactly would be a good amount? That certainly isn't why I joined. Our military is here for one reason, and it isn't to collect death benefits. The military is the first suggestion I would make to all able bodied individuals who have what it takes.
